Criteria for eligible countries to pick from:

• Must accept U.S. citizens during the pandemic (CNN Travel list was our primary source)
• Must NOT require a 7+ day quarantine (pre-travel requirements such as COVID testing were OK)
• Must NOT have a Level 4 Travel Advisory, as established by the U.S Department of State - Bureau of Consular Affairs

Fun Facts: Costa Rica does not have a military, which aligns well with the local "pura vida" lifestyle. The country does not command any military units nor house any war weapons; however, it does maintain alliances with other countries, such as the U.S., that are expected to assist in the event of war within Costa Rica [QCostaRica]. According to the CIA World Factbook, there are 36 countries and territories in the world that do not have a military.
